Bo Staffs The Bo Staff, kon, or Rokushakubō, is one of the traditional Okinawan weapons. It is one of the oldest known weapons, and similar weapons have been used throughout Asia and the rest of the world, though the form has reached it’s pinnacle in the Japanese art of Bōjutsu. In its most traditional form, the Bo is about 6 feet long, is round with tapered ends, and is made from bamboo, rattan, or a hard wood like oak. Any number of alternate designs can be found, including longer and shorter form, square, hexagonal, or octagonal shape, and construction from fiberglass, metal, or other materials.
